"Retirement isn't an ending - it's an edit"

Executive Reinvention & Retirement Coach

I didn't plan to become a retirement coach.
I planned to retire.
I spent more than 35 years as a senior HR executive leading large organizations and navigating high-stakes change.
When I stepped away from my career, I expected freedom. What I didn’t expect was the crisis that was waiting on the other side.
I woke up to an empty calendar and realized I had no idea who I was without my title. My entire sense of self had been built around the work I did, the teams I led, and the problems I solved. Take that away, and what was left?
That uncomfortable question sent me on a three-year quest for answers — through books, coaching, research, and a lot of honest reflection. What I found was that almost no one talks about this part of retirement. Everyone plans the financial side. Almost no one plans the life side.
Retirement isn’t the end of the story. It’s an edit — and it turns out, it's only one of many options you have to build your next chapter. It's your chance to keep what still fits, ditch what doesn’t, and intentionally shape what comes next. Let me help you find what's next.

How I Work
My coaching isn't about motivational platitudes or generic goal-setting. It's grounded in a framework I developed through my own transition and years of working with executives just like you.
We work across three dimensions:
Identity. Who are you when you're no longer your title? We do the work of separating your sense of self from your professional role and rebuilding something that's entirely, intentionally yours.
Structure. The calendar doesn't fill itself. We design a life with rhythm, engagement, and forward momentum - because freedom without structure isn't freedom, it's drift.
Purpose. What matters to you now? Not what mattered at 40. We look at what you want this chapter to mean and build a life that reflects that, whether it includes work, volunteering, creativity, family, or all or none of the above.
The Book & The Newsletter
"Your Next Edit": 30 Thought-Provoking Exercises to Help You Build the Retirement of Your Dreams grew directly from my own experience and the gap I saw in the market. There were plenty of books about the financial side of retirement. Almost none addressed the psychological and identity dimensions that most people find hardest.
The book is available on Amazon and serves as the foundation for my self-guided coaching program. It's a companion you can work through on your own, or alongside one of my structured coaching offerings.
The Next Edit is my weekly Substack newsletter - a community of high-achieving midlife professionals who are thinking carefully about what comes next. Each issue explores one idea about identity, reinvention, purpose, or connection. If you're not ready for coaching but want to start thinking, it's a good place to begin.
